Solufa gold is a high value protein meal derived from processing and the wet extrusion of whole soybeans, faba beans and lupins. The extrusion process makes Solufa Gold a very useful feed ingredient that can be fed to pigs, poultry, cattle, sheep, goats, horses and other livestock.
The product is an excellent source of energy and digestible protein. Extrusion delivers high temperature and short cooking time to soybeans, faba beans and lupins which minimises degradation of nutrients. At the same time, the process improves protein digestibility, makes oil more available from rupturing cells and reduces levels of antinutritional factors.
Raw Soybeans, Faba beans, and lupins can contain many antinutritional factors that inhibit the absorption of nutrients from these legumes and pulses. Anti-nutritional factors can be naturally occurring chemicals known as secondary metabolites and are highly biologically active. These anti nutritional factors exert effects contrary to optimum nutrition, however with processing most factors can be disabled.
Solufa Gold is a protein meal that can be widely used across the stock feed industry with particularly applications in the dry lick supplementation sector. The heating process binds the protein ends and allows for a slower breakdown in ruminant diets.
